Submission Guidelines
Poetry
Submissions
Submissions are read
year-round. The Tipton Poetry Journal is published quarterly both in print
and an online archive. Future issues will include a digital or electronic
downloadable format.
The Tipton Poetry Journal publishes about 35 poems each issue and
submissions are read throughout the year. Poems with the best chance for
acceptance are quality free verse which evokes a shared sense of common
humanity. The Tipton Poetry Journal is published in Indiana, so themes
with a regional focus are encouraged.
Tipton Poetry Journal asks for one-time rights for publication and also the
right to retain an HTML archive.
There is currently no payment for poetry other than one $25 payment per issue for a Featured Poem, selected by the Brick Street Poetry Inc. Board of Directors.
Simultaneous submissions and previously published poems are ok. Please withdraw
poem immediately if a poem under simultaneous submission becomes unavailable.
If a poem has been previously published, please indicate publication in order
to be properly acknowledged.
Submit 1-5 poems per submission. If submitting a simultaneous submission through our online submissions manager, please submit SEPARATELY. Should you need to later withdraw one of your poems, this will leave your others to remain under consideration. Only submit multiple poems in one online submission if it is NOT a simultaneous submission.
Include name, address & phone number. A phone number will only be used for urgent contact (in case of last-minute issues before publication when email doesn’t suffice).
Including a short bio is preferred.
